Calp doubles its commitment at Alicante Gastronómica with expanded stand and more establishments
Calp is strengthening its participation in the Alicante Gastronómica Fair, which takes place from Friday to Monday, with a larger space and a programme of activities centred on white prawns and local fish.

The council of Calp, together with the Fishermen's Cofradía and the Association of Businesspeople and Traders (AEMCO), has increased its presence at the Alicante fair with a larger stand than in previous editions, coinciding with the doubling of the municipal budget allocated to this event.
Local produce at the centre of the programme
The Peix de Calp and Gamba Blanca brands will be the stars of the planned activities. The Fishermen's Cofradía will offer tastings of boiled and fried white prawns on Saturday, as well as a fideuá, whilst AEMCO shops—bakeries, butchers and wine merchants—will bring coca maría, cold meats, wine and vermouth to the fair.
Amongst the highlights is a showcooking session in which the winning tapa from FiraCalp will be prepared, a white prawn tartare, designed to showcase the visibility of local culinary creativity linked to this product.
Free transport for visitors
To facilitate access to the fair, the council will launch a free bus service that will include a wristband for entry to the fairground.
Institutional assessment
Council member Santi Ferrer underlined the council's commitment to this event, noting that this year "the budget has been doubled" for the fair, which according to him "has led to the presence of more shops and hospitality establishments at an important event".
Meanwhile, AEMCO representative Ana Sala defended the advisability of maintaining this presence at Alicante Gastronómica, stating that "commerce and tourism go hand in hand and we must be there".
