Why we exist

The Marina Alta deserves rigorous, clear local news, free of interests. Too often the news arrives mixed with opinion, with headlines that push towards an idea, or with political leanings the reader cannot see. La Marina Times was created with a single mission: to inform.

Facts, not opinions

Every story starts from the facts: what happened, who it affects, when, where and with what data. We report what can be verified and attribute every statement to whoever made it. We do not take sides, we do not pass judgement and we do not suggest conclusions. When there are opposing positions, we include them all.

Artificial intelligence in the service of impartiality

We write our news with artificial intelligence, under strict rules: neutral language, no value-laden adjectives, no opinion and every source cited. We do not do this because the technology is infallible — it is not — but because it lets us apply the same criteria, always, to every story, every institution and every party alike.

Editors who verify, not opine

Our editorial team reviews every story before it is published. It checks that the facts match the sources, that there are no errors or typos, and that the text respects our neutrality rules. It never adds its own opinion or changes the angle of a story. Some service news, such as the events agenda, the weather or municipal notices, is published directly and is labelled as such.

Transparency

We always link to the original sources and indicate when a text or an image has been generated with artificial intelligence. If we get something wrong, we correct it and say so. And we explain openly how we work.

For everyone

We publish in Spanish, Valencian, English, French, German and Russian, because the Marina Alta is made up of people from many backgrounds. The same story, in every language, with the same facts.
