The event, organised by the Equality and Diversity Department, will take place as an afternoon gathering from six to ten in the evening, designed so that families can also attend. Councillor Javier Scotto explained that the proposal "is an opportunity to consume LGTBI culture beyond Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia".
Scotto described the event as "a real party and celebration of pride for everyone" and "a space for coexistence for everyone", while emphasising that "Diva Dénia Music Pride is a space for coexistence and diversity for everyone". The councillor added that "our situation continues to be invisible, our claims and the discrimination we continue to suffer".
The area between La Glorieta and Quatre Cantons will host a fair of organisations and illustrators, together with an associative space where the CLGS la Safor collective, the Lambda association and Sexólogos sin Fronteras will be present, offering information and advice on sexuality.
To ensure the safety of attendees, the event will have a Violet Point and a Rainbow Point. The choice of dates, close to the festivities of 9 October, aims to highlight LGTBI historical memory within local traditions.
Changes to the musical line-up
The musical programme will review disco and electronic hits from the seventies, eighties and nineties. Among the novelties of this third edition, already announced by La Marina Times, is the performance of Alma de Soul, current contestant on Drag Race 6 Spain, who will finally replace Choriza May, whose participation was originally scheduled.
