Dénia launches Blue Zone tender with Bizum payment and digital fine control

Dénia council has put out to tender the complete management of the Blue Zone (ORA) in the city, according to the council. The maximum budget for the contract amounts to €447,336.88 for a four-year period, including VAT.

The service currently has 13 parking meters in the Blue Zone, with tariffs unchanged: one cent per minute, the lowest in the whole Marina Alta. This amounts to 60 cents for one hour of parking and €1.20 for two hours. The short-stay zone has a maximum of 60 minutes, whilst in the normal zone the limit is 120 minutes.

New payment methods and control

The contract includes the incorporation of Bizum payment, plus mobile applications with no commission for the user and QR codes on the parking meters themselves, according to Dénia council. The payment application must work on both Android and iOS and be available in Spanish, Valencian and English.

Fine control will be digitalised using four mobile devices, made up of a terminal and printer, one of them as backup, intended for enforcement officers. Every ticket must be accompanied by a mandatory photograph.

Signage and free spaces

The winning company must maintain the sensors of the Smart Parking system and synchronise information on free spaces. Two new electronic variable message signs are to be installed, which will be added to those already in place on Patricio Ferrándiz, La Mar and Ronda Muralles-Foramur.
