The Calpe club will host this national event for the first time, bringing together 18 crews from 13 regional federations. The sporting event is part of the celebrations marking the Real Club Náutico de Calpe's 50th anniversary, as La Marina Times previously reported.

Five federations—the Balearic Islands, Galicia, Andalusia, Murcia and the Valencian Community—will each provide two representatives for the final. The Valencian region will be represented by TeamTac from Dénia Yacht Club and Oui from Valencia Yacht Club, skippered by Toni Garcés.

All vessels will be identical Tom 28 monotypes, and the regatta will be contested under real-time scoring format.

The schedule begins on Thursday 15 October with registration and training sessions. Official competition runs from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October, when the new Spain Cruising Champion will be decided.

Previously, TeamTac achieved runner-up status in 2022. In last year's edition in 2025, L'Oreig from Port d'Aro Yacht Club finished third, while Taxus Medio Ambiente, which came second in 2024, placed fourth last year.
