The Real Club Náutico de Calpe will host for the first time the Spanish Cruiser Championship Loterías with Sport, a competition that will take place in the waters of the municipality between 16 and 18 October, following a preliminary registration and training session scheduled for 15 October. The competition also arrives in the year the club celebrates its 50th anniversary, as La Marina Times already reported when covering other sailing events organised by the club.

Eighteen crews representing 13 regional federations will reach the final, after competing in the qualifying regattas throughout the season. All will compete aboard identical Tom 28 monotypes, boats that are the same as each other in order to equalise the conditions of all participants. The format chosen for the races will be real time, designed to make it easier to follow the progress of each boat during the heats.

Among the autonomous communities with the greatest presence in the final are the Balearic Islands, Galicia, Andalusia, Murcia and the Valencian Community, each of which will be represented by two teams.

Among the list of participants are two of the best-ranked teams in recent editions: L'Oreig, from CN Port d'Aro, which finished third in the 2025 championship, and Taxus Medio Ambiente, from CV Bahía de Gijón, second in 2024 and fourth last year.
