Els Poblets opens helpline for residents affected by flooding

The council of Els Poblets announced on Tuesday the launch of a telephone service to collect and manage requests for help from residents who suffered damage from the flooding of the previous day.

On Monday 19 October, the overflow of the river Girona caused extensive damage to homes and streets in the municipality, as La Marina Times already reported.

To centralise the municipal response, the council has set up the number 96 647 43 99, which those affected can contact to report their most immediate needs.

Priorities identified by the council include cleaning damaged homes, replacing basic furniture such as mattresses, and supplying hot meals to those in need.

The council explained that requests received will be addressed according to the priorities and needs communicated by the affected residents themselves.
