On Saturday 17 October, from 10.00 am, Calle Palmera and other spaces in Benissa will host the fifth Fira d'Associacions, a day when more than twenty local entities and groups will display their activities throughout the morning.

The programme will include sports exhibitions of volleyball and basketball, as well as a game of raspall, a Valencian ball sport. A Moors and Christians parade with festive music and a dog parade have also been planned, promoted by the Associació Pepito, aimed at raising awareness of responsible animal adoption.

Music will be provided by Xaranga l'Espardenya, which will perform between 10.30 and 12.30, and Pentatonic School, which will close the musical programme at 12.30. For the youngest, Calle Palmera will have children's games, and several entities will offer workshops for this age group. The day will conclude with a giant paella shared by the participating associations.

The councillor for Citizen Participation, Virginia Pérez, stated that "the Fira, on its fifth anniversary, is more alive than ever" and added that this year a record number of participants has been reached, with a day prepared "so that the public can see up close the work of our associations, participate and be encouraged to become part of them".

For his part, the mayor, Arturo Poquet, highlighted "the importance of this fair in highlighting the strength and diversity of Benissa's associative fabric" and encouraged "residents and visitors to join us for a festive day of gathering that puts our associations and all the people who make their activity possible throughout the year at the centre".
