Baleària launches Pet Week 2026 with contest to find passengers' favourite pets
The shipping company will hold a week dedicated to pets from 29 September to 4 October 2026, with the Pet Talent Baleària contest as the main attraction and benefits for members of its loyalty club.
Baleària has announced the launch of Pet Week 2026, an initiative that will coincide with World Animal Day and will centre on a photo and video contest through social media. Under the name Pet Talent Baleària, the proposal aims to give visibility to animals travelling on board the company's ships on routes to the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and mainland Spain.
To take part in the contest, users must upload a video featuring their pet to Instagram using the contest's official song and tagging the account @Baleariaferry. The entry deadline will be 20 October 2026. Among participants, a trip for two people and one pet will be raffled, which will also include one night's accommodation at a pet-friendly hotel.
Benefits for club members
Those who are part of Baleària Club will also be able to benefit from this campaign: members who complete three journeys with their pet within a year will receive an Amazon gift card worth €50.
On-board services for travelling with animals
The company reminds that its ships have several options for those travelling with animals, including adapted cabins, designated walking areas, specific seats and so-called Calm Rooms, spaces equipped with webcams that allow owners to monitor their pets during the journey. The Pet Friendly Seat, meanwhile, is designed for animals of up to 8 kilogrammes in weight, which must travel in a carrier.
Baleària has also reminded of basic safety rules for boarding: dogs must get on and off the ship on a lead and wearing a muzzle, animals are not permitted to remain inside vehicles during navigation, and it is mandatory to present an official veterinary record with current vaccinations.
