Ondara holds neighbourhood meeting at Caixa d'Estalvis and Tossals
The council met with residents to review the state of works, lighting, road safety and area cleanliness, and announced another meeting before the end of the year.
The Social Centre at Caixa d'Estalvis and Tossals hosted the meeting between municipal representatives and residents, marking the end of Ondara council's scheduled neighbourhood meetings for September. The councillor responsible for the area, Miguel Gomis, led the session together with the Neighbourhood Councillorships.
The meeting heard that works on the Caixa d'Estalvis Park are progressing as planned, with the installation of necessary electrical and water piping. As part of these works, two mulberry trees and two nettle trees have been relocated to Tossals Park, where they have already been planted.
Lighting and pavements pending
Among the residents' requests, the lack of lighting on Camí Tossals was raised, and the council committed to assessing the installation of new lighting points on that stretch. It was also announced that a new section of pavement will be built on Camí Xàbia, a route which currently lacks one.
Residents also raised their concern about traffic at the junction leading to Doctor Fleming avenue and Sanchis Guarner school, requesting a study on the safety of that point. Another matter addressed was complaints about noise at night caused by groups of young people and motorcycles in Tossals Park, a situation that the Local Police is keeping under surveillance.
Those attending also spoke positively of the work carried out by municipal brigades and the SINMA company in cleaning and maintenance of the neighbourhood. Before closing the meeting, the council confirmed it will call another follow-up meeting with residents before the end of the year.
