Benidorm's local police force has launched specialist training in noise measurement and technical control, designed for officers from different forces across the Valencian Community who lack specialised knowledge in acoustics. Classes are held at the Benidorm police force's headquarters over four days—6, 7, 13 and 14 October—between 08:30 and 13:30, totalling 20 hours of instruction.

The programme is divided into four thematic blocks covering the fundamentals of acoustics and the use of measuring instruments through to applicable national legislation and criteria for assessing the compliance of sound-emitting devices. The methodology combines theoretical lessons with practical field exercises.

Teaching is provided by Jaime Ramis, professor of Physics and Signal Theory at the University of Alicante, together with the Applied Acoustics Group from the same university. The practical component also involves the company CECOR SL.

The opening ceremony was attended by the councillor for Citizen Security, Jesús Carrobles, who highlighted that the training provides "a global vision of the requirements and evaluation methodology for acoustics as described in national legislation". The councillor also referred to "the sound-related problems in the city".

This initiative seeks to ensure that officers apply more precise and uniform technical criteria when measuring noise levels in their respective municipalities.
