Dénia reactivates ninth edition of Participatory Budgets for autumn
Dénia council is resuming its citizen participation mechanisms this autumn, with the ninth edition of Participatory Budgets, neighbourhood meetings, the Neighbourhood Council, the Associations School and the Associations Fair, according to Dénia.com.
Dénia council, through the Citizen Participation department, has announced the reactivation of its main citizen participation tools for autumn 2026, according to Dénia.com. Among them stands out the return of Participatory Budgets, reaching its ninth edition following the last call dedicated to Torrecremada.
The proposal submission phase will run from 1 to 31 October, and residents will be able to participate through the website, mobile application, by email or in person. Subsequently, from 2 to 27 November, a technical assessment of the proposals will be carried out, and citizen voting will take place from 1 to 30 December, according to the same source.
Neighbourhood meetings and Neighbourhood Council
Neighbourhood meetings, in which councillors from the governing team participate, will also resume their activity in October. At the Faroleta-Diana meeting, councillor Maria Josep Ripoll will speak to explain improvements to Elche street and the children's park, co-financed by Alicante provincial council. For his part, Juan Sapena will take over the neighbourhood meetings for Les Rotes, previously chaired by Rafa Carrió.
Among the projects already completed in the neighbourhoods are the urban renewal of Maria Ibars street and the picnic area in Diana Wood, while the aquatic park in Bassetes and several multi-sport courts remain to be awarded, according to Dénia.com. Additionally, the Neighbourhood Council will hold its next meeting on 29 September.
Associations School and Fair
The Associations School, organised in collaboration with Horta Sud Community Foundation, will offer two workshops: one on tax legislation on 24 October, from 10:00 to 13:00, and another on grants and project management on 7 November, at the same time.
Finally, the Associations Fair, held in Dénia since 2013, will take place on Saturday 17 October, from 10:00 to 20:00, on Marqués de Campo street. This edition will feature 43 registered associations, according to Dénia.com.
