An event rescheduled after rain

On 9 October, at 12:30, Jaume I square in Dénia will host the political event organised by Compromís per Dénia on the occasion of the Valencian Community Day, following its cancellation in 2025 due to rain.

The local secretary of the party, Safir Malonda, and deputy in Les Corts Gerard Fullana will speak at the gathering. Compromís per Dénia points out that the event has been held in the same location since 2010, regardless of whether the party holds municipal office or sits in opposition.

Safir Malonda said that "this is a date that forms part of the history of our group and that we maintain because it does not depend on where we are institutionally, but on what we are and what we represent politically". The party leader added that "from the Town Hall we are working to make it a festival for everyone, open, cultural and participative; but as a party we maintain this event as a space to assert political Valencian nationalism".

The day will conclude with a floral tribute at the monument to Jaume I, in which the Muixeranga will participate. Compromís per Dénia invites members, supporters and residents to join both this event and the cultural programme organised by the Town Hall for the festival.

Parallel municipal programme

For the same date, an institutional event is scheduled for 10:30 at María Hervás square, with institutional speeches and performances by the Agrupació Artística Musical de Dénia, Dianium Dansa and Canya Badà. The 9 d'Octubre programme also includes, spread over several days, musical and children's activities, fireworks and valencian pelota. It is, moreover, the first time in the current term that the Compromís event is being held with the party heading the Town Hall.
