The Town Hall of Calp is bringing to this Tuesday's ordinary council meeting a budget increase of €1,760,000 that provides economic cover for 18 different items. This is the fifth credit modification recorded in the 2026 financial year, and its seven lines of greatest economic weight account for more than 90% of the total amount mobilised.

Car park and tourism office, the largest items

The highest individual amount, €659,000, is reserved for relocating the car park located next to Felipe VI road, after the Júcar River Basin Authority warned that the space is in a preferential flow zone. To this sum are added €337,000 for the future Tourism Office in the historic town centre, whose budget has grown from an initial forecast of around €700,000 to the €1 million already allocated previously, after two previous tendering processes went unawarded. The Tourism councillor, Mireia Ripoll, explained that the building will not be limited to tourist functions, as its upper floor will also house economic promotion, commerce and business meeting spaces.

Waste, paths and court rulings

The economic reinforcement of the waste collection and street cleaning contract absorbs around €400,000, intended to cover the remaining months of the year. The modification also reserves between €91,000 and €92,000 for repairing traditional paths in the municipal area, whilst some €90,000 is set aside to cover price reviews arising from court rulings that the council is obliged to execute.

The ambulance base, after two decades of use

The refurbishment of the premises housing the Basic Life Support ambulance base will receive €72,600. The building has been providing this service for more than twenty years without any substantial reforms.

Calp's governing team has noted that this credit modification could be the last of the year, due to the administrative deadlines required for the adjudication of the various contracts.
