The council released a summary of work on Tuesday 20 October and expects remaining tasks in Marqués de Campo, Plaza Tenor Cortis, Les Bassetes, Bosc de Diana and Torrecremada to be completed the following day.

Facilities out of service

Dénia Castle will remain closed until further notice due to damage from the storm, the Town Council confirmed. The Municipal Sports Pavilion also remains shut, where the storm affected the flooring, stands and sports equipment.

Schools and public spaces

Dénia schools resumed lessons on Tuesday after municipal brigades inspected the facilities, where isolated incidents of leaks, drainage problems and damage to trees were recorded. Those same brigades continue removing fallen trees and clearing parks, gardens and public areas throughout the municipality, while the Beach Service is cleaning the coastline and has repaired access routes and roads damaged by the rain, in line with the destruction already left by the wind and rain storm that hit the city.

The Town Council also set up priority assistance to remove furniture and belongings damaged by flooding, through telephone 966 43 11 54 managed by Urbaser, and urged caution on streets and roads due to gravel, plant debris and pavement damage.

Support for Els Poblets and reopening of facilities

Dénia sent a municipal crane and a Local Police patrol to Els Poblets on Monday, a locality to which on Tuesday were added six ACIF volunteers with three pumps to remove water. That same day, the Fira de Tots Sants resumed activity in the afternoon after passing a new technical inspection, and permission was granted to reopen the Rodat and Diego Mena fields, the El Rovellet trinquet, the Joan Fuster pavilion and the Madrigueres courts, whilst the climbing wall, calisthenics area, old fronton, blue court and athletics track remain closed. The lift at the Social Centre continues out of service due to water seepage.

The Town Council assessed damage to municipal infrastructure, in a comarca where other incidents were also recorded such as the collapse of a dry stone wall, and maintains coordination with the regional government to manage aid, with a meeting held on Tuesday and another scheduled for Wednesday.
