The Real Club Náutico de Dénia held its Ordinary Assembly on Saturday 26 September, where members approved the definitive promenade reform project with 150 votes in favour, none against and one abstention. The initiative is linked to the extension of the club's administrative concession, which will run until 2039.
The investment planned for the works will be around 5,000,000 euros and construction is scheduled to start in late October 2026. Approval of the project by the Conselleria ends a long period of institutional negotiation over the renewal of the concession.
The club described the previous process as a "continued effort that has required planning, capacity for dialogue and significant financial involvement by the club, with the aim of securing its future, preserving its activity and continuing to add value to the city of Dénia and its maritime environment". The club stated that "it has participated in numerous meetings and negotiations with the conselleria to defend an appropriate solution for the new promenade" and "has worked to ensure that the project responded to the needs for improvement and integration of the public space, but without unnecessarily invading or altering the daily activity, coexistence and social life of the members".
The Náutico added that the extension of the concession offers "a framework of stability to continue developing its sporting, social and nautical activity, as well as to undertake the necessary investments with a forward-looking vision", and stressed that the reform "responds to the needs for improvement and integration of the public space, but without unnecessarily invading or altering the daily activity, coexistence and social life of the members".
In the same session, the Assembly also approved the club's annual accounts for the financial year 2025. The president, Jaime Portolés, informed members of the state of the project, thanked them for their support and highlighted the work of the Board of Directors, the human team and the members themselves.
