Els Poblets hosts fourth edition of Persianes amb Art urban art festival
The municipality will transform 35 shutters from its shops into works of art on 2 and 3 October, with the participation of 37 artists from different parts of Spain.

The Plaza del Salvador in Els Poblets will be the setting, during the weekend of 2 and 3 October, for the fourth edition of Persianes amb Art, an initiative that turns the metal shutters of local businesses into urban canvases. In total, 37 creators will work on 35 shutters spread across the town.
The origin of the participants reflects the reach the event has been gaining: 23 come from the Valencian Community, 11 from the Balearic Islands, two from Catalonia and one from Castilla-La Mancha. Among them are also eight Fine Arts students enrolled at the Universitat de Barcelona, the ADEMA University School of the Universitat de les Illes Balears, the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Universidad Miguel Hernández, based in Altea.
A shutter with an inclusive purpose
Among the planned interventions, a shutter of an inclusive nature stands out, which will be painted jointly by the artist known as Mero together with the APROSDECO association.
The graphic design for this edition has been created by illustrator Iris Serrano, who was tasked with designing the poster announcing the festival.
Parallel activities
In addition to the artistic interventions on the shutters, the organisers have planned complementary cultural activities and spaces for participation open to residents during those two days.
